Summary:
Jim Craig (Burlinson) returns to the Australian high country after three years, with a herd of horses that he has caught and plans to sell in order to provide a stake for his future and to be able to make his girlfriend, Jessica Harrison (Thornton), his wife. He finds things quite different than when he left, however, as she is being pursued by a rich suitor (Eadie), and her father (Dennehy) wants Jim out of her life. The other residents of the high country are being driven out by the wealthier low country ranchers, and Jim gets caught up in a violent feud between landowners.
